cycle of life and death
cycle of life and death
A place that often evokes discomfort and fear upon mere thought, a place burdened with memories of physical and emotional anguish. It's where many of our family members, acquaintances, and friends have seen their final days. The scent of unpleasant coffee mixes with the sharp odor of disinfectants, all while we step on cold linoleum floors. This place, paradoxically, is where life begins, – it's where we are born. The question lingers: will it also be where we meet our end?
In Žilina, my hometown, the hospital stands as one of Slovakia's largest medical complexes. It's a bustling yet strangely quiet place, almost like a deserted town. While walking around the hospital's exterior, I took photos of this unique community, still marked by its socialist-era architecture. These buildings quietly hold the stories of countless lives, a testament to the cycle of life and death.
